Accepting Clients

I seek to create a space where all humans feel safe, respected, and heard.

Clinical Psychologist in Raleigh, NC

About My Clients

I work with a wide range of clients, so it is hard to describe in generalities. I work with clients who have experienced trauma, anxiety/mood difficulties, relationship/communication issues, anger, behaviors that bring up shame for clients, parents who are trying to make it all work, young adults who don't know what to do with their lives, clients who are trying to move through grief, and many more. If you aren't sure whether I am a fit for you, our free consult call can help you decide.

My Background and Approach

I will work with you from a trauma-informed perspective, helping you simultaneously work toward the seemingly opposite goals of acceptance of what is and changing what is possible. I will prioritize meeting you where you are, creating a space that enhances your ability to experience and process emotions, and offering skills to create positive changes in your life that are consistent with your own goals and values, all while building a strong therapy relationship. I am knowledgeable of and an advocate for intuitive eating and body neutrality. I have significant experience working with the LGBTQ+ community. I having training in several evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I often incorporate mindfulness and self-compassion in my work. I offer individual and group therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I truly believe in the skills I teach to clients (I use them every day as well). Also, therapy is a big investment of time, finances, and vulnerability, and it is important to have a good connection to make it worth the investment--I do not assume I am the right therapist for every client who walks through the door, so I am a big believer in the consultation call before scheduling an intake to help you determine whether I am a good fit without having to spend time and money on an intake appointment. In a larger sense, I believe in human rights, abortion rights, Black Lives Matter, gay rights, and trans rights. I believe understanding intersectionality is essential.
