About My Clients
My clients are from diverse backgrounds, and are seeking the same thing- to be seen, heard, valued and understood without judgment. My clients have unique, often complex histories, and desire to understand themselves better to improve their lives. Managing mental health, physical health, selfcare, relationships, life changes (from adulting to parenting to empty nest to retirement), grief/loss, & trauma is often when we need the help of a caring, experienced professional the most.
My Background and Approach
I have been working in the field of social work since 1995 in a number of diverse roles. I earned both a BSW and MSW in Clinical Social Work with distinction from the University of Kentucky. I hold licenses to practice in Kentucky and Missouri. My approach is individualized and trauma informed; comprised of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Supportive Therapy models along with elements other modalities. My specialties are mood issues, anxiety issues, adjustment to life changes, and PTSD. It is most important to me that my clients have a safe space to share their stories, to heal, gain insight and understanding of themselves while developing coping strategies and tools that make the journey a little easier. My style is down to earth, non-pathologizing, inclusive of all, compassionate with lots of heart (and a little humor too.) You are welcome here. I look forward to helping you on your journey.
