Ranging from as young as preschool-aged children to elderly adults, I work with people from all walks of life who are dealing with complex life transitions such as divorce, grief, infidelity, miscarriages, empty nesting etc. as well as inner struggles with low self-esteem or healing from abuse/bulling.
My Background and Approach
As a humanistic therapist, my approach is gentle, relational, and emotionally exploratory. My training and background is heavily influenced by the rationale that clients are the experts of their own lives, as humans have the innate propensity to grow when they're given the chance to express themselves and be deeply understood. I do not assume the role as the problem-solver in the therapy room, but rather, I help clients explore themselves for their own solutions and strengths so that they can overcome their unique problems in a way that suits their needs and lifestyles. Our collaborative therapeutic alliance will help us work as a team as we confront issues at a comfortable pace that works best for you. Whether it is holding your hand through a painful life transition, making healthier choices, or empowering your self-worth, I am confident that I can help you get to where you need to be. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
From perspectives as both a therapist and a client, effective therapy can only happen when we're motivated and honest with ourselves in the process. By trusting that the more we reveal (even when it feels uncomfortable/difficult), the deeper we can go to find new ideas and conclusions for things in our lives that were once unexplainable or too painful to deal with. Clients carry the power, the responsibility, and the choice to change for the better. I believe in YOU and what experiences, stories, feelings, thoughts, relationships etc. that deeply impact YOU. As multifaceted creatures with diverse issues, world views, backgrounds, and positive qualities, we all deserve the opportunity to free ourselves from whatever it is that haunts or torments us; and we all deserve the opportunity to replenish or restore that positive thing that we feel like we've somehow lost in ourselves as seasons of life change and new difficulties get tossed our way.
