About My Clients
As we navigate the world, we all need support on our journey. I support individuals in breaking free from the various stories the world has told about them and empower them to write their own stories, identify goals and reclaim the narrative of their lives. I also encourage clients to speak to themselves with kindness, grace, and compassion and to honor the power of their voice.
My Background and Approach
I am a compassionate and empathetic licensed clinical social worker who believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship. I received my MSW from UIC’s Jane Addams College of Social Work and have dedicated 15 years to working with people who have experienced interpersonal and systemic trauma, using a harm reduction approach. I then shifted my focus to teaching students working towards Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in social work. I derive energy from supporting others in their journey to be who they want to be in the world.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I take a relational approach to support my clients on their journeys. I enjoy creating an affirming and safe space for my clients to navigate transitions, avoid burnout, set boundaries, and overcome challenges. I use a variety of interventions tailored to each individual and specialize in the use of CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I strive to make every client feel seen and heard while holding space to identify and mobilize their strengths.
