About My Clients
I work with adults individually and in couples through anxiety, depression, grief, loss, trauma, difficult relationship dynamics, and polyamory/non-monogamy. I proudly and humbly support the LGBTQIA+ community and BIPOC.
My Background and Approach
Imagine our work like being in a car together. You are in the driver seat and in control of the pedals and steering. You choose what, when, and how to share your process. I am the navigator in the passenger seat. I suggest routes, but you are the one who chooses. My role is to support you in accessing your strength and insight, shining a safe and supportive light on emerging struggles and themes in order to sharpen the perspective needed to take power back from where it may have been lost before. We work as a team. I use a mindfulness based eclectic approach that pulls from many modalities. We'll explore both practical approaches to reducing stress and anxiety, as well as thematic origins and avenues of resolution. I love the Enneagram, Internal Family Systems, and connecting dots in general.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the burdens of injustice and marginalization create undue barriers to wellness and becoming. And also that there is personal power within each of us that cannot be ceded. I believe that Black lives matter. Always. And I believe that it is up to me as a white person to continually engage in self-reflection and examination in regard to the privileges I was afforded because of my white skin. It is my responsibility to continue to learn, listen, and actively engage in dismantling racism where I find it and the systems of oppression that surround us all. I believe that emotions are information, and are extremely valuable, even when they are painful. I also believe that the way out is through, and that the muscles of resilience are built through struggle. I believe that some of the keys to getting unstuck might just be embedded in what binds us, as frustrating as that can be sometimes :)
