About My Clients
If you live with chronic illness and/or pain, you know how deeply it can impact every area of your life. As a therapist with a lived experience of both, I understand how dispiriting and exhausting it can be, and the additional medical trauma many of us carry. I'm passionate about teaching clients skills to interrupt the feedback loop between stress and aggravated symptoms, as well as doing the deeper emotional work to grieve deep losses and re/discover joy and safety in your body.
My Background and Approach
As a therapist I am warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative. Clients have expressed feeling safe with me, and experiencing me as knowledgeable and insightful. My main modality is Somatic Psychotherapy, and I love incorporating elements of ACT, Mindfulness, and Parts Work, tailoring these to each client's needs. My approach is non-pathologizing, trauma-sensitive, and grounded in attachment, neurobiology, and the integration of mind and body. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity, relationships and more. I find it especially fulfilling to work with people who live with disabilities, chronic illness, and/or chronic pain. I know first-hand how challenging it can be to sustain a loss of health, and I consider it a privilege to support you in the many ways this may be impacting your life. I'm certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy, an evidence-based treatment for chronic pain caused by neural pathway sensitization.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the inherent worthiness of every human being. My practice is Neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ affirming and rooted in anti-oppressive frameworks including Anti-Racism, Body Liberation and Disability Justice. Whether emotional, physical, or both: your pain is 100% real, it matters, and it carries important information. I believe healing is always possible, and I would love to work with you to help you do so. Please don't hesitate to email me with any questions, or to schedule a free 30 min phone consultation with me.
