About My Clients
I provide a safe and supportive environment within my practice where patients can work toward a deeper understanding of themselves. I hope to facilitate self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-love.
My Background and Approach
I value depth, insight, and relationship in my approach to therapy. I believe knowing yourself in new ways leads to more effective and meaningful living. My journey as a therapist began as a volunteer for suicide prevention lifeline for LGBTQ youth. I studied Social Work as a graduate student at New York University. I received postgraduate training at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. I am trained in the use of EMDR from the Parnell Institute. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Late stage capitalism, eroding democracy, climate and environmental destruction, a digital age that often makes us feel more isolated; There are many sources of pain and suffering in our modern world in addition to our individual stressors and traumas. Now more than ever we need connection, insight, and healing. I believe therapy provides a unique setting to reflect on our lives and to give much needed space to express our most deeply felt feelings about ourselves and the world around us.
