About My Clients
My clients are motivated, highly-capable and creative, but despite all this, they struggle. When they first come to therapy, they have the right job, the supportive friends or partner, but something just isn't adding up. They may be overly stressed, worry often or tend to over-analyze every little thing. After some time in therapy with me, they begin to uncover the unconscious patterns that are keeping them playing small and take action to live more fully and reduce their anxiety.
My Background and Approach
I work with the approach that every human being has the innate capacity for healing. What healing looks like, however, is different for everyone. That being said, I will tailor our sessions to your unique needs and challenges with a little bit of clinical expertise sprinkled in. We'll start by covering what's going on for you currently and how to immediately make some changes to start feeling better. Then, we may begin to explore what's below the surface and tap into your emotions and unique patterning. This process sounds abstract but is really a collection of tools and techniques that I have learned and implemented over my 10 years of practicing therapy. I use art therapy approaches in tandem with traditional talk therapy. I also incorporate the mind body connection and spirituality into my approach to healing. I use warmth, compassion and humor in my sessions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a big believer that each and every person deserves healing and to be able to live authentically and thrive. I also believe that we have to feel our feelings in order to process and release. I honor all peoples authentic version of self. I believe body, mind and spirit are all involved in mental wellness. I am lgbtq+ affirmative, ally, and culturally sensitive. In my professional life I commit to DEI work and decolonizing therapy.
