My Background and Approach
I believe in effective, transformative therapy. My treatment approaches and areas of expertise include Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Unified Protocol Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (UP CBT), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Exposure Therapy (ERP & PE). Therapy sessions will be focused on supporting you in reaching your treatment goals using a variety of techniques informed by these evidence-based treatment approaches. Sessions often focus on exploration and processing of relevant life experiences in order to reach a clear understanding about how to address any challenges you’d like to overcome, as well as to strengthen self-awareness. Therapy also often involves the guided practice of strategies and exercises (used both during and between sessions) in order to strengthen important skills (such as mindfulness, self-compassion, emotion regulation, problem-solving, interpersonal relationship effectiveness, and values-congruent living) and help you reach your goals.
