About My Clients
Therapy is a brave choice. I strive to work with you where you’re at and work at your pace. I typically help clients with relational issues, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I utilize evidence-based interventions in ACT, SFT, CBT, Mindfulness and work from a feminist narrative lens. When working with couples I use a feminist Gottman lens for those who want more egalitarian structures to navigate emotional labor, task overwhelm, and burnout.
My Background and Approach
Some of the deepest and most meaningful experiences of life are in connection, and that comes along with all the growth edges we find as we bump up against one another. Building community, family, love, and any kind of connection isn’t easy work, and even the strongest relationships require thoughtful tending from time to time. I value your unique experiences and aim to create a space where you can be seen, affirmed, and celebrated for your values, strengths, resilience, spirituality/religion, politics, activism, and culture—as well as experiences of discrimination and oppression though racism, sexism, disability, body size, ageism, relational structure, neurodivergence, gender and sexuality. All people are a unique constellation of intersections and experiences, and you deserve a space to bring every part. My goal is for you to end our time together feeling more grounded, empowered, and aware.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a cisgender white woman and use she/her pronouns. I value body acceptance/neutrality, disability justice, anti-racism, and fostering systems of collective care and joy. I believe that rest is resistance and as such I aim to rest well, connect deeply in my relationships, and find glimmers of joy when and where they can be found. I firmly believe that the more I live a full, loving, and grounded life the better for my clients, my community, and myself. I am deeply invested in my own self-care and community-care with walks, cat snuggles, hot cups of tea, good books, and laughter.
