My Background and Approach
I have a rich background in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is the gold standard treatment approach for many of the concerns that present themselves in therapy sessions. I chose this approach during my academic career and have continued to utilize it professionally for the last 13 years because I have seen how practical, yet effective it is. When clients work with me, they complete therapy with a skillset that they can use for the rest of their lives. Additionally, Mindfulness-Based Stress Relief tools complement CBT skills, and I love how simply they can be integrated into daily life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When I'm not in session, I spend a lot of my time caring for the animals on my small hobby farm. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a very passionate Licensed Veterinary Technician. I still love learning new things to provide the best care possible for them, and enjoy passing my knowledge on to others around me when they need advice or a helping hand.
