About My Clients
I utilize my experience working with folks from many different walks of life. I provide support to individuals looking for answers to questions and problems impacting their lives -- I have extensive experience gender- and sexuality-affirming talk therapy to adults and adolescents, with most of my experience working with LGBQ individuals, trans and non-binary individuals, students, creative people, parents, sex workers, individuals processing loss, and helping professionals.
My Background and Approach
I have been providing psychotherapy since 2009. I see patients privately at my two office locations, and I am a clinical supervisor at The LGBTQ Center. Formerly I have worked within the NYC queer community as a staff therapist at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, as a staff therapist at the Ali Forney Center, and with older-adolescent students within the NYC & Chicago school systems. Social justice activism is an important part of my practice ethos as well, both in participation and in providing therapy to other activists and creatives. My style is largely process-based and exploratory, with a heavy focus on relational and psychodynamic therapy modalities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In addition to being a psychotherapist and supervisor, I focus on my work as a comic artist, sewist, illustrator and painter. I utilize art and craft as my preferred forms of self care and my favorite mode of creative storytelling. Aside from artistic endeavors, I am personally passionate about relationship anarchy, intentional time with my loved ones (including my dog), bicycling, climate change activism, sex workers' rights, body acceptance, and the power of community connection.
