About My Clients
I work with adolescents and adult clients looking to examine challenges related to motivation, self-esteem, and perfectionism. I’m also experienced at helping clients explore unhealthy relationships to food and/or substances and other addictive behaviors. My experience so far has involved working with teens, young adults, and working professionals across diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds and I have worked at varied settings and levels of care.
My Background and Approach
As a client-centered, integrative therapist, my approach draws largely from relational and humanistic therapies. I believe whole-heartedly in the importance of integrating physical and emotional health in order to optimize functioning and overall well-being. I am also a 200-hour certified yoga instructor and regularly incorporate mindfulness-based practices into my work with clients. I also commonly draw upon principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I believe in the importance of developing a warm, genuine, and empathic space, so that the therapeutic process can be most fruitful. My aim is to help my clients achieve a higher level of self-understanding and continue to cultivate their strengths, while fostering self-efficacy and a sense of agency.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a holistic approach to treatment and I’m passionate about increasing awareness of the mind-body connection and empowering my teen and adult clients to make choices that serve their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. I strive to help others show up authentically in each facet of their lives. I believe in the healing power of compassionate, feedback-informed care. I work with clients to set goals that are realistic and foster an individualized pathway toward change.
