About My Clients
I've provided integrative, evidence based evaluation and treatment, to adolescents through adults, for: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, adjustment to life transitions, bereavement, behavioral issues, disordered eating, weight loss, personality disorders, stress management, workplace burnout, trauma, disease management, and more.
My Background and Approach
I obtained my Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, with a dissertation addressing identifying and measuring critical thinking skills. My doctoral internship was at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign, Illinois with a focus on working with children and adolescents. My post-doctoral fellowship, an additional speciality training year, was at MetroHealth Medical Center with a focus in Integrated Behavioral Health in the Family Medicine department treating individuals across the lifespan. I have experience working, consulting, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in settings ranging from primary and specialty care clinics, college counseling center, immigration and refugee center, elementary school, and rehabilitation hospital.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I learn a great deal from people who I work with that has helped shape me as a clinician. To me, change grows from the meeting of what I bring, what you bring, and what the research demonstrates as effective (which is ever evolving!). From this change might come “success” - which may mean you letting me know that life has improved, even if for a moment, in whatever way “improvement” means to you. We all have stories, and I look forward to understanding yours if you’d think we might be a good fit.
