About My Clients
Have a concern that feels so intense it feels it can never be overcome? I am here to listen, understand and help make a plan to move toward an easier way of living for my clients. Addiction, disordered eating, behavior concerns, obsessive thinking, relationship concerns, codependency and any other great problem my client may feel is insurmountable… I work to empower to overcome!
My Background and Approach
I started in the field as an inpatient substance, abuse, counselor, gaining experience with addiction, disordered, eating, and working directly with families on breaking the cycle of enabling. I also worked in several hospitalization, level, mental health facilities, getting experience with bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive, compulsive disorder, and a myriad of other very serious concerns. This work history benefited my approach to counseling and understanding how difficult it can be for some to except help, and how important it is for me as the clinician to be understanding and patient. I use a family systems oriented approach often including, parents, spouses etc to enrich the clients success in their goals. I also use CBT and DBT techniques to help the client gain control of their every day life and improve overall quality of life. I’m solution focused, and enjoy, helping people concretely identify a move towards goals that they set for themselves.
