About My Clients
Perhaps something recently happened that has shaken you to your core, such as job loss, divorce, or the death of a loved one; or maybe, you realize that you are still impacted by the lingering effects of trauma and abuse. I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment to examine your past and present issues so that you can process them and heal, acquire or strengthen the skills you need to deal with life’s challenges, and create desirable, actionable plans for your future.
My Background and Approach
I am an EMDR Certified (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) counselor, and I integrate lenses of Existential-Humanistic, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Ego State, Cognitive Behavioral, and mindfulness into my treatment approach. I have experience counseling homeless veterans in San Diego, with under-served populations in Las Vegas, and with urban professionals in private group practice in Chicago. It's important to me to hold space and be affirming so you can be yourself. I aim to adhere to best practices for ethically and multiculturally-informed Counseling. I welcome clients from diverse cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds, gender and sexual identities and expressions, abilities, neurodiversities, and faiths.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that most problems are best explained by understanding systemic deficiencies and failures, and that most solutions start with brave individuals who challenge the status-quo of these systems by working toward sustainably healthy ways of thinking, loving, and living for themselves and their community. Too many people, for too long have been operating under fear-based motivation and actions. My aim is to provide safe space and tools for folx to heal and grow so they have the most purposeful and joyful lives possible.
