About My Clients
My clients clients seek a therapist who shares some of the unique perspective that comes from having traversed the gender veil. Insight and self awareness are important steps on the road to self actualization, but the embodied process of coming into compassionate and loving relationship with Self can be tricky to navigate in a world that would often prefer we were otherwise. It helps to know we are seen.
My Background and Approach
I work from an integrated theoretical orientation based on Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems (or parts work), and Narrative Therapy. This is to say I approach healing relational trauma relationally by attuning to each client's unique needs, wants, boundaries, and sense of Self. I work collaboratively with my clients to cultivate a safe and secure therapeutic space in which to integrate awareness of their own body's wisdom through the slow, gentle process of listening and feeling into the present moment. Common themes in therapy are emphasizing the power of personal choice, somatic awareness, and authenticity.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I draw heavily on my own lived experience as a neurodivergent transgender leftist to work with my clients through a politicized lens. I recognize that so many of the problems that assail a person's relationship with Self are actually complex social and systemic failures, rooted in supremacy culture. I do not adhere to the medicalized model of therapy that emphasizes pathology and centers what is "wrong" with a person. I trust deeply in the human spirit's own natural wisdom and aliveness. My job is to give you the space and care you need to flourish under your own power.
