About My Clients
Are you ready to step into a healing journey? Do the stories you tell yourself about the world seem inevitable? Would you like to explore a new lens through which to see yourself and the world? I operate from a trauma-informed perspective that encourages you to hold yourself with compassion for the things you have gone through and to find a path to living a good life again. I only work with adults, and find that therapy progresses best when we approach it with vulnerability and transparency.
My Background and Approach
My practice is eclectic in nature, but is primarily informed by Buddhism, liberation psychology, and narrative therapy. My first goal is to locate you in the various contexts in which we all live and to hear a bit about the story of your life. We then will start to explore these stories and their impacts on us, eventually finding narratives that are more healing and productive. Our work is collaborative and I try to steer away from giving advice and towards helping you connect to your inner wisdom and teachers. There is a beautiful light inside of you, our task is to remove the barriers keeping it hidden.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is my belief that we can heal. My past involves some real difficulties and hardships, and therapy helped me navigate spaces that seemed impassible. Part of how I came to make meaning of my struggles was to help others in need. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to heal and to find a better way to be in this world, regardless of what has happened to us and/or what we may have done. I am here to offer you unconditional compassion and positive regard. I believe that we all can find liberation, and that each of us has our own path to get there. I cannot tell you how to be on that path, but I can help you along it.
