About My Clients
I specialize in working with females ages 15-25 with anxiety, depression, self harm, relationship issues, identity confusion, and life transitions. I help clients explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that lead to unhelpful patterns in their lives so that they can create meaningful change. I teach clients DBT skills to help with regulating emotions, tolerating distress, and being more effective in relationships with others and oneself.
My Background and Approach
I have experience working as a therapist in high levels of care including residential treatment, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient programs. In these settings I worked with both teens and adults struggling with emotion regulation, family relationships, identity confusion, and many other distressing feelings and experiences. In these settings, I became skilled at teaching CBT and DBT skills to clients in an effective way that sticks and helps an individual make significant changes in their life. In graduate school I studied to be a LMFT and art therapist. I have been working as a registered art therapist in both group and individual settings. Art therapy isn't just for kids! It can be so helpful for both teens and adults to explore what is going on in their lives in a concrete (sometimes even fun) way. You don't have to be an artist at all to reap the benefits of art therapy!
