Services

About My Clients

I provide virtual mental health services to adults experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD and C-PTSD, relationship issues, and family-of-origin trauma. I have extensive experience in trauma-informed therapy due to my background in community mental health. I work with LGBTQIA+ clients and am part of the community myself. I enjoy clients who appreciate a balance of radical acceptance and openness to change with a generous dash of humor and irreverence.

My Background and Approach

I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Master of Science in Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have over seven years of trauma-informed practice experience. I have worked in community mental health agencies, including Capital Area Counseling, and most recently, in college mental health at UT's Counseling and Mental Health Center. I practice therapy from a relational-cultural approach, which means I consider the influence of relationships and culture on everything we discuss. Through collaboration, we can use our therapeutic relationship as fertile ground for exploration and growth. Through attuned awareness and guided exploration, I can help you become safely embodied and manage triggering events, experiences, and emotions.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a social worker, I believe that every human is entitled to dignity and is worthy of love and support. I believe that change is the only constant and strengthening our ability to tolerate uncertainty can be freeing. While people are often hurt through relationships with others, they are often healed through relationships with others. I believe that effective coping skills coupled with acknowledging abuses of power can enable people to thrive in a world that is increasingly hostile to those with non-dominant identities. I also believe that silence about oppressive systems and actions is ultimately siding with the oppressor. I operate from an anti-oppressive lens and take an active role in identifying white-supremacy values and the adverse impact they have on individuals and society as a whole.
