About My Clients
Fit is everything when it comes to building an effective therapeutic relationship! I have extensive experience supporting folks who are navigating life transitions, identity, gender and sexuality exploration of self/loved ones, survivors of trauma, and those who want to understand how to make adaptations in their lives to support their neurodiversity. Developing authentic connections with clients is fundamental to my therapeutic approach and I enjoy supporting those who are unsure about therapy!
My Background and Approach
I believe that healing occurs through relationships, with ourselves and with others. Our society operates in a framework of white supremacy that often leaves us isolated and pathologizes our ways of being in the world. While our differences can be sources of distress they can also be sources of joy, belonging, and celebration. My goal is to co-create a space to explore pathways to regulation, coping, adaptation, and healing where you feel seen, heard, challenged, and accepted. My therapeutic approach is relational, collaborative and strengths based. I believe that you are the expert on your lived experiences and come into the therapeutic space with existing wisdom. Through developing trust, in our partnership we will be able to explore your relationship to yourself, others, the systems you navigate, and the larger world around us. My ideologies are grounded in: Social justice Somatics Black Feminist theory Queer Theory A Health at Every Size model Trauma Informed Practice
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapeutic work is inherently political. My values are rooted in collective liberation. I am a queer, non binary, white, Jewish, 1st generation american living on stolen Duwamish land. I am a person who lives with chronic illness. I am a parent and a partner. All of these identities inform the way I show up in therapeutic relationships. I am committed to continued growth, learning and unlearning in my examination of the identities I hold that grant me positions of power and privilege.
