About My Clients
Chronic illness, end of life issues, fatigue and chronic pain, are my areas of expertise. I have trained under a therapist with a doctorate in Medicine and Family Therapy, and have lupus myself. Having a therapist with expertise, and the ability to validate my feelings, had made a huge difference that I see reflected in my clients. I also have worked with clients with low energy depression, constricting anxiety, and substance abuse. I currently only offer online therapy.
My Background and Approach
I mainly use DBT which connects the body and mind, provides practical therapeutic tools that can better clients' quality of life and works well for those with chronic illness. I am certified in expressive arts therapy, for those who want to do more than talking, and may want therapeutic writing, drawing, painting, or collaging exercises as a part of their therapy. We will work together on an approach that works best for you, and make changes as needed depending on what works. I will also be starting a lupus support group, which is open to those with any chronic illness. It will be a small group of six people, and will be online. To find out more about the lupus support group, send me an email: [email protected]
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a gender affirming, LGBTQIA+ informed therapist, and am myself queer. I acknowledge the effects of racism, misogyny, and capitalism on clients' mental health. Though I am spiritual and not religious, I am respectful of clients' belief systems, and will often integrate their own spiritual or religious practices to personalize their treatment plan.
