About My Clients

I love working within my communities, supporting LGBTQ+ adolescents and adults many of whom also identify as neurodivergent. Many of my clients are dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, major life changes, and relationship challenges, and have a history of trauma. I also regularly work with trans and non-binary teens exploring gender and sexuality. I welcome people of all identities and work particularly well with clients who have experienced feeling different from others.

My Background and Approach

I am a New Yorker who has found a home in the Bay Area for over 20 years. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in tech, struggling in an environment where it was hard to be my full self. During those years, I managed by writing, traveling, and developing a meditation/yoga practice, all of which helped me make a career transition to therapy. Sessions with me are creative and compassionate. I'm here to help you hold the tough stuff, but we're going to laugh too. My approach is relational (thinking about how we show up in our relationships), somatic (the body holds important information), and focused on awareness (the more we understand about our experience the more choices we have in how to respond). I hold a social justice or systems lens, meaning this work is about more than you as an individual. We're all shaped by systems of oppression and we also explore how that impacts you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I value compassion, humor, creativity, the natural world, and social justice. I believe that my role as a therapist is to support you in accessing your own strength, self-trust, and wisdom. For the past 25 years, I have been a member of various queer communities. I know that relationships, career, family dynamics, and social systems can be especially difficult for those of us who express ourselves or identify outside of mainstream norms. I also recognize that no two queer experiences are exactly alike and I am interested in hearing specifically about your experience. I hold a worldview that is anti-racist and feminist.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
I have experience with the following
  • Agnosticism
  • Atheism
  • Buddhism
  • Judaism
