About My Clients
I specialize in work with transgender, gender non-conforming and nonbinary, and LGBQ+ identified adult individuals, couples, and polycules seeking therapy for issues related to gender, sexuality, and other intersections of experience and identity such as socio-economic status, race and ethnicity, (dis)ability, spirituality, migration, family history, and substance use.
My Background and Approach
I have been working with queer and trans people in clinical and grassroots settings since 2017, and I am dedicating to serving the wider LGBTQ+ community. In my practice, I encourage clients to explore how their identities and context influence their wellbeing, as well as how my identities and experience may influence our therapeutic relationship. No topic is off limits in my therapy sessions, and I strive to create an environment in which both I and my clients can bring our fullest selves to the work. In therapy sessions with me, you can expect direct communication and feedback, structured sessions, and commitment to our partnership in your treatment. I use a variety of techniques, including somatic and polyvagal-informed therapies, as well as behavioral and cognitive therapies such as CBT and DBT. Your experience and preferences will ultimately guide our work together though, and I strive to create a therapeutic experience that best caters to your vision for your healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that healing is a deeply personal and individualized experience, and that it does not necessarily happen on a linear timeline or in a predictable way. Additionally, I believe that our experiences of structural oppression, such as transphobia, racism, ableism, and xenophobia, majorly impact our mental health, and that naming and exploring this is often crucial to the healing process. I strongly encourage clients to bring these experiences to the therapy room.
