About My Clients
My journey into mental health care is deeply influenced by my South Asian upbringing, where seeking therapy is often stigmatized. As a first-generation American and South Asian woman, I bring a unique perspective to my work, drawing from my experiences with immigration and navigating first-generation identity.
My Background and Approach
I'm particularly passionate about supporting individuals facing challenges related to first-generation stressors, immigration, identity, women's issues, disordered eating, relationship difficulties, and academic stress. In my therapeutic practice, I strive to create a nurturing and collaborative space. I establish empathy and non-judgment, encouraging clients to explore their needs and values. Guided by a client-centered, humanistic approach, I meet individuals where they are, seeking to understand their unique experiences and collaboratively implement meaningful changes. I deeply integrate principles from a Psychodynamic perspective. I believe in delving into the unconscious processes and early life experiences that shape individuals' thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By exploring these underlying dynamics, I help clients gain insight into their patterns and develop a deeper understanding of themselves.
