About My Clients
Life can be difficult for everyone, but it becomes even more so when you struggle to get out of bed, can't stop worrying about if you've made a friend angry or if something bad is going to happen, trigger flashbacks, or any other plethora of symptoms you might experience because of a mental health issue. I'm here to help individuals understand their mental health and cope with the symptoms so they can take back their lives and live them to their fullest.
My Background and Approach
I have a background in treating children, adolescents, adults, and groups in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have spent a majority of my career working directly with abuse/neglect survivors and their supportive family members. I specialize in depression, suicidal thoughts, and non-suicidal self-harm. I am a trauma informed therapist with specific training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trust-Based Relational Intervention, however I like to use skills and theories from multiple types of therapy. I am also a fan of incorporating pop/nerd culture, such as anime and gaming, into sessions and coping skills. My job as a therapist is not to tell you what you need to do, rather work alongside you to meet your goals in the most beneficial way possible.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a white, pansexual, agender therapist who wants to help people be their authentic selves, especially in a world where queerphobia and discrimination of so many people exists. I hold LGBTQIA+ issues close to my heart. I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with what they have been given, so I aim to provide support and tools to help people meet the goals that they set for themselves.
