About My Clients
Navigating this thing called “life” can be hard and sometimes you just need a little extra support. If you struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, life changes, and interpersonal issues, I may be the right therapist for you. I am a compassionate and friendly therapist who loves using humor in therapy. I enjoy working with teens and adults, as well as the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I am a South Asian therapist who connects strongly with clients of similar cultural backgrounds.
My Background and Approach
Starting therapy can be intimidating! I first use person-centered and humanistic approaches to build rapport and trust with my clients in order to help them feel comfortable and safe. I tend to also teach Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to my clients. I am also an Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) trained therapist! EMDR is a helpful approach for clients who want to heal from trauma and work on processing traumatic memories in a safe way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a South Asian woman, I am a proud member of the BIPOC community. I am also a fierce ally of the LGBTQ+ community. I believe that everyone has the right to be who they are exist in this world without feeling shame or fear.
