About My Clients

I have primarily worked with people of color and/or who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community and aim to center clients' needs, goals and self-knowledge that lies within. Through trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lenses, I support clients in exploring concerns related to work, sexual/affectional orientation, including asexuality + aromanticism, gender identity, race, interpersonal relationships, polyamory/ENM, loneliness/connection, authenticity, depression, anxiety, trauma, complex PTSD, etc.

My Background and Approach

As someone with multiple marginalized identities, I feel that it's important to foster a safe, identity-affirming therapeutic space and when relevant, explore the ways in which your emotions, experiences, relationships, and internalized core beliefs may be tied to the oppressive systems in which we live. In zooming out, it's likely the shame we may be holding on to can be unburdened with time and intention. To support this approach, I mainly draw from feminist, relational-cultural, and internal family systems modalities but am open to using other modalities based on your needs. Moreover, I trust that you are the true expert of your life and believe in client-centered care in which we co-create a safe space together that honors your growth, authenticity, and healing. There's no one right way to heal––both inside and outside of individual therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I strive to embody transparency, flexibility, and humility in my work with clients. I want you to feel seen and heard and supported by warm, non-judgmental, affirming care. It's important to me to help foster a space in which, with time and trust, you can feel safe enough to sit with hard feelings, to share, witness, and unburden your most vulnerable parts, (re)connect with authenticity to support you in living the life you want to live. Additionally, I care about social justice. I'm not a "blank slate" therapist; I draw from feminist principles and view therapy as a political act. I feel that strengthening the relationship with oneself can be really meaningful and important, and at the same time, we also heal in community. My hope is that my clients' inner work allows them to feel more connected to themselves and informs the relationships they make and maintain with others.
