About My Clients
Many of my clients arrive in therapy with negative thoughts about themselves. We will work as a team to develop compassion for yourself, identify and address barriers, and develop skills to better navigate and tolerate all the difficult feelings in between. While offering a general practice, I often work with adults struggling with anxiety, grief, perfectionism, LGBTQ+-specific issues, trauma, and self-esteem. I am also honored to support many survivors of suicide loss or other sudden death.
My Background and Approach
Together we will identify and untangle your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they affect one another and your well-being. We will also explore your history, at your pace, to unpack how past relationships and experiences have contributed to your current challenges to make life today a little less stressful. It would be my privilege to earn your trust, bear witness, and support your journey toward healing. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in New York, California, and Colorado. I hold a Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University and have been working in the mental health field since 2016, leading community-based mental health teams, consulting, and working in private practice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You deserve to take space for yourself to process painful experiences and tend to your needs, and I would be honored to provide that for you. I offer a warm, nonjudgemental atmosphere where you can feel comfortable sharing what has been troubling you. I identify as an Iranian-American/white, bisexual, and cisgender woman and strive to practice through an anti-racist, feminist, and anti-oppressive lens. This work offers a daily reminder that mental health is not developed in a vacuum— culture, history, family, race, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and gender identity all play a part, and it would be my privilege to work with you to uncover how these systems can both impact and empower you.
