About My Clients
If you're finding yourself overwhelmed by anxiety or memories of past trauma, struggling with self-criticism, or having difficulty in your romantic relationships, therapy can help. If you're looking for new strategies to manage your emotions, live in line with your values, or feel more satisfied in your relationships, effective therapies exist. I invite you to reach out!
My Background and Approach
I have over a decade of experience in treating anxiety, romantic relationship concerns, and post-traumatic stress, along with challenging life transitions and other concerns that often prompt folks to seek therapy. When you start work with me, we'll identify treatment goals that are personally meaningful to you. Along the way, I'll check in regularly to make sure therapy continues to feel useful and helpful to you. I use evidence-based treatments, which means that any of the therapies I use have been shown to substantially benefit you, and I'm able to select treatments that are best suited to helping your specific concerns. We'll also pay close attention to ensuring that important elements of your identity, culture, values, and significant life experiences are incorporated into treatment. My goal is for you to gain skills, insight and confidence in managing your emotions and relationships and better understanding yourself so you can leave therapy empowered in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that change is always possible when the motivation is there, and that therapy can be an invaluable step in the path toward wholeness. I approach sessions with warmth, humor, and compassion, and believe that successful therapy involves bolstering your skills, insight, and relationships. I'm an active therapist, always listening for new information to highlight or gently challenge, or finding ways to draw on your strengths to enhance a new skill. Outside of therapy, I'm pleased to offer trainings in trauma-informed healthcare and no-cost evaluations for individuals seeking asylum. Many years ago I worked in the performing arts. I'm able to provide video telehealth sessions for individuals living in many states across the country as part of PSYPACT (you can check to see if your state is a member here: https://psypact.org/page/psypactmap). I look forward to hearing you if you think we might be a good fit.
