About My Clients

I provide inclusive, evidence-based care to clients who feel like society maybe isn't really aligned with them and need some support in finding an affirming, effective way to move forward toward their needs and goals. I appreciate working with neurodiverse clients from an affirming approach, members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, people coming from complex or challenging families of origin, and people navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, or substance misuse.

My Background and Approach

My main style of therapy is Cognitive Behavior Therapy and I use that in tandem with the Ecological Systems Theory, as well as Crisis Intervention Model and Solution-Focused Therapy. The approach I maintain with each client is the Ecological Systems Theory - this method takes a holistic look at my client and knows that they cannot be taken out of their environment and that how they interact with physical, social, political, and cultural systems impacts the ways in which we can work with certain goals and resources. My passion is empowering and encouraging others. I strive to do this by helping them develop the skills to be able to live that life in the best way possible. I provide a space of trust that prioritizes clients being comfortable to be vulnerable and know that they can openly process and just have a space to safely exist.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse community, I am passionate about connecting with my clients in similar life areas to provide compassionate, affirming therapy. One reason I entered the field of social work was my own father’s struggle with substance misuse and through my experiences I've fostered a deep sense of empathy and understanding for different members and roles in a family impacted by substance misuse. If you're struggling with generational trauma, religious trauma (particularly fundamental Christianity), mood dysregulation, navigating a neurotypical world as a neurodiverse person, or feeling that that society has left you on the margins, I’m here for you. When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my chosen family, cook giant meals (and glare at the dishes), volunteer, read and take naps with my cat, Junie B Jones!
