My Background and Approach
I work with a variety of client concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, identity exploration, and self-esteem. My clients and I work on repairing and healing, through a collaborative, trauma-informed approach. I have a deep passion for working with marginalized clients (POC, LGBTQ+, Neurodiverse), and providing a safe, affirming space. I strive to empower and collaborate with my clients to help them reach their goals! My approach to therapy is through repairing and healing, utilizing a collaborative, trauma-informed approach. I strive for advocacy inside and outside of the therapeutic space, dedicated to making long-lasting changes in marginalized communities. I operate using Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and Humanistic theories, including narrative and existential frameworks. Feminist theory allows me to address identity exploration, systemic oppression, and social change with my clients in a strengths-focused way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a second-generation South Asian woman, I saw a need for therapeutic spaces that not only recognized but celebrated all parts of clients’ identities. I am passionate about dismantling negative stigmas surrounding mental health care, providing safe spaces for those who have been negatively impacted, and empowering clients within their collectivist cultures. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going on bike rides, trying new restaurants, practicing yoga, reading, and creating mandala art!
