About My Clients

Do you ever feel like you have a foot in two worlds? Like no one will ever understand the cultural demands you are experiencing? I can help you navigate multicultural issues. Ever feel stuck trying to figure out who you are? I have great experience working with folks exploring their identities (ex. gender and sexuality, racial/ethnic, emerging adulthood, etc.). I believe strongly that having genuine and authentic connections with others is healing and will work to help you build this support.

My Background and Approach

I utilize psychodynamic and biopsychosocial theoretical orientations through a feminist psychology/multicultural lens. Essentially, I consider your varying and intersecting identities, life experiences, and positionality. I hope to promote an open and collaborative relationship that emphasizes mental flexibility/liberation, empowerment, skills, and understanding to create change that will continue beyond therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am aware of how my salient identities, specifically gender and ethnicity, have affected my life experiences. My formal education provided solid conceptualization and my personal experiences undoubtedly influenced my level of interest in these areas. If one thing about me is consistent and clear, it is that I have dedicated most of my life fighting for social justice issues. I have learned new ways of addressing oppression, trauma, and prejudice, and identity issues through my education in working with students at multiple college counseling centers (ex. MIT, Tufts University, Boston College). I have spent my life trying to understand peoples’ experiences while advocating for their mental liberation and equality. I work toward creating emotional freedom and cognitive flexibility for my clients. I view therapy as a powerfully transformative tool, and I look forward to applying interventions and understanding to support growth and healing in my clients and their communities.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
