About My Clients
My practice specializes in serving folks who have not historically had easeful relationships with their bodies; this can look like grappling with your relationship to or society’s relationship to: queerness & gender identity; burnout, overwork, & career transitions; growing up/becoming [an “adult”]; messiness; chronic pain & illness; body image; attachment patterns; relationship models & transitions; oppression trauma; and/or anxiety, depression, & PTSD.
My Background and Approach
My approach is gentle, curious, and non-pathologizing--I believe that healing happens "at the speed of trust" (adrienne maree brown). My hope is that the healing container we make together will be a space where you can start where you are (as the world’s expert of your own lived and felt experience); where you can notice and honor what your body is already doing to heal and protect itself; and where you can exist beyond stifling binaries and norms in unfolding relation to your body, yourself, your people, and your world. In my practice, contradictions, paradoxes, and dissonance are held sacred. Here, there is reverence for all the multitudes of you, every you that you had to be to find yourself here today. Here, survival strategies are treasured, not problematized. And together, we get to co-create a therapeutic relationship and container between and beyond the binaries of good/bad or problem/solution.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Here are some roles, experiences, and identities (in addition to “therapist”) that may help you land with me: I am now embodying or have once embodied the roles of client, somatic practitioner, bird noticer, student, legal aid lawyer, child, caretaker to animal companions (who you may see in session), barista, partner, silly doodler, sibling, tarot reader, and friend, among others. I have experienced trauma and burnout, and I live with chronic illness/pain. I identify as white, queer, and non-binary.
