About My Clients
You may feel like you keep finding yourself on the same path, no matter how many times you walk off. You may feel like everything inside is a knotted ball of yarn, mixed up and hard to follow. Or maybe you feel like you've run out of ideas on how to change or what to do. It's lonely, confusing, and frustrating to be in this position, like stumbling through a forest with no sun (or mountains!) to tell you which direction you're headed.
My Background and Approach
I can help you break patterns, untangle your inner mind, and take a step back to find a new perspective. I use an integrative approach that's both challenging and relational, mixing my training with my experience, combining the science and the art of being a practitioner. I primarily use a mix of Gestalt, narrative, and CBT, although I love a chance to dabble in some expressive arts with my clients if words just aren't doing their experiences justice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that your inner world is a unique, sacred place. There's nothing like it. You are one-of-a-kind and know yourself better than I or anyone else could know you. No one is neurodivergent quite like you or trans quite like you or Black quite like you. I advocate staunchly for all people to be seen as unique, full, and whole humans who deserve housing, healthcare (including reproductive and transition), safety, privacy, and support - legal, community, societal, and personal. I do not shame coping skills of any kind (including substance use, self-harm, etc.), but rather view them on a scale of adaptivity. Together, we can investigate where these coping skills fall on the continuum and decide what to do from there to reduce harm, encourage safety, and always feel supported in the journey.
