About My Clients
My experience and target clientele gear me towards working with folks with multiple marginalized identities, such as queer folks of color, low-income and immigrant family backgrounds, and more. If you might want to work on exploring your identities, setting boundaries, and managing anxiety in your life, we might be a great fit!
My Background and Approach
Hi! My name is Sherry, and I’m a bisexual, genderqueer woman of color. I’m currently a graduate student at New York University pursuing my degree in Mental Health Counseling and my dream of becoming a therapist! It’s nice to (virtually) meet you! I’m interested in working with queer and trans clients of color, and helping support marginalized folks as we navigate our way through a world that isn’t built for us. I center myself and my practice around social justice, being conscientious and curious, and growing alongside my clients. I utilize an integrative approach and draw from person-centered, feminist, and multicultural theories. I was drawn to counseling because I wanted to be the therapist I so badly needed when I was younger. I hope to help foster a meaningful and positive difference in the lives of others as was done for me when I was struggling to feel heard and understood. Lets explore your intersections and multitudes!
