About My Clients
I work with young women and queer people who are perfectionistic and hard on themselves. You set goals for yourself that aren’t reachable, and you feel like you’re failing, though from the outside it may look like you have it together. You know that the patterns in your life aren’t working, yet it’s hard to identify what to change and make those changes on your own. It’s a big step to even recognize that you might benefit from therapy.
My Background and Approach
Therapy depends on us developing a safe relationship from which we can explore your feelings and concerns. In our therapy sessions, you can expect compassion as well as a focus on practical skills on how to relate differently to the stress and loss in your life. My own mental health journey through anxiety and people-pleasing—and my experience in therapy—led me to specialize in supporting others who feel stuck, hard on themselves, and anxious. My style is compassionate and warm, with a focus on addressing the issues bringing you into therapy. I recognize it takes time to develop trust with me before diving into the deeper issues. I’m here to be part of your team as you become more authentically yourself. I draw from several styles of therapy in my work, including ACT, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I practice from an antiracist, queer-affirming, feminist perspective. I am passionate about disability justice and Health at Every Size (HAES). I provide virtual therapy to clients in Colorado and Michigan. I offer in person appts in Denver, CO.
