About My Clients
The individuals that I work with are often members of the LGBTQ+ community and are very diverse in their gender identity and expression. Many individuals identify as neurodivergent or are exploring their relationship to neurodivergence. I work with many individuals who have experienced various types of trauma, including gender-based violence and childhood abuse. Some individuals are also experiencing suicidal ideation, engaging in NSSI, or adjusting their relationship to using substances.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in a variety of fields over the past 10 years and have always enjoyed the work with individuals and families. I have experience working in the foster system, working with Autistic and Intellectually Disabled adults, and with college age students with urgent mental health needs. All of these experiences have made me into the therapist and social worker that I am today! I try to integrate pieces of each of these experiences into my work -- from considerations about systemic oppressions and power structures, to being neurodiverse-affirming and as accessible as possible, to recognizing that individuals' immediate needs vary and look different and it is essential to work with people where they are at.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each and every person has inherent worth and dignity. This is a core belief and a driving motivation behind all I do in my practice. It is important for me that individuals I am working with define success and the goals they are working toward for themselves.
