About My Clients
Managing symptoms of anxiety or depression, exploring boundaries and intricacies of interpersonal relationships, managing chronic illness, and healing from grief are all topics that are frequently discussed in my practice. Therapy is a partnership in which you bring your knowledge of yourself and I bring my knowledge of human behavior and of therapeutic interventions. Through a therapeutic relationship, you can safely examine tender topics and possible paths forward.
My Background and Approach
I’m good at helping people hold big, uncomfortable feelings. I enjoy helping people identify their needs and learn how to express them effectively. I also enjoy encouraging the development of new skills and the enhancement of existing ones to boost resilience, making it easier to navigate life’s challenges. I like helping people explore aspects of their identities and navigate the world in ways that leave them feeling good about themselves and their actions. My work utilizes an anti-oppression lens with a focus on intersectionality, and is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Practice, Psychodynamic theory, and trauma-informed care. After graduating from University of Washington with a Masters in Social Work, I worked in a medical setting, which provides a useful perspective for clients who interact with those systems often. I've worked in private practice since 2020.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I enjoy working with adults throughout the lifespan, of any gender. Black, Indigenous, People of Color, trans*, queer folks, and other marginalized identities are more than welcome.
