About My Clients
I specialize in providing culturally-responsive and culturally-affirming psychotherapy to Latinx, Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) and the LGBTQ+ communities. I believe that you deserve to work with a therapist who understands and affirms the complexities of your unique intersectional identities. My practice is sex-positive, trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, affirming of folks from LGBTQ+, Kink, and Polyamory communities.
My Background and Approach
I have a passion for helping individuals establish more satisfying, authentic relationships with others and with themselves. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, therapeutic environment that fosters well-being, healing, and growth. I strive to establish a collaborative, empowering atmosphere that strikes the balance between support and challenge. My style is generally warm, direct, and transparent. I am an empathetic listener and actively participate in sessions by sharing my observations, fostering insight, and sharing practical feedback to help my clients find relief and to effectively address the challenges of life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am the founder of the Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy (ACIP), a Latinx-owned business founded on principles of an anti-oppression and anti-racism. My practice is sex-positive, trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, Feminist-informed, and affirming of folks from LGBTQ+, Kink, and Polyamory/Consensual non-monogamy communities. I strive to create a decolonized healing space that promote resilience and liberation. Our culturally affirming approaches honor the cultural practices, traditions, & creativity that have enabled BIPOC communities to build resilience and also recognize the impact of systemic oppression and racial injustice. In my clinical work, I seek to understand dynamics of power, privilege, and oppression that have shaped my clients identities and lived experiences.
