My Background and Approach
I'm a certified trauma therapist (CTP) integrating relational, somatic, and psychodynamic-based interventions in my work to help clients feel calm and more empowered to show up authentically in their daily lives. After working with me clients know what tools and resources are available to them, both internal and external.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that overcoming mental health issues and healing from trauma shouldn't mean accepting that the problem is located inside you. Our sense of who we are and what we're worth is developed in a social, familial, and political context, as well as our sense of what others expect from us and how they respond to us. I believe that for many people, healing means acknowledging the ways that we’ve been harmed by oppressive structures and realizing that we are not what we’ve been told about ourselves.
