About My Clients
Clients who are introspective and willing to look inward tend to be a good fit with me. I challenge folks to be honest with themselves while holding a space of curiosity to understand and learn more about themselves. From this space, we can identify barriers that may be in the way of building a life with meaning, moments of joy, and increased fulfillment. I enjoy working with a wide range of adults in various stages of change and transition.
My Background and Approach
I received my PhD in Counseling Psychology in 2009 from the University of Oklahoma. This followed my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology. I have co-owned a group practice in Minneapolis since 2015 where I provide individual and couple's therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all folks deserve equity and access regardless of identity. I believe it's imperative to be aware of ways we hold privilege (when we do) and work to dismantle unhelpful messages we may hold internally about others and the world. Depending on one's identities, I hold awareness of ways structural oppression and discrimination built into the foundation of our society negatively impacts folks' lived experience.
