About My Clients
You may have seen a therapist before but as you continue the self-work using podcasts you notice that something's still missing. You probably still get riled up getting a text message from your Mom, or find it hard to keep your cool when talking to your kids. You have all the right intentions & you’ve worked so hard to get here, especially when you’ve survived a difficult childhood. But this time, you want the change to be long-term; that’s why you’re willing to do the difficult work.
My Background and Approach
I love helping people get to know themselves better and show up authentically in their life and relationships; whether it's helping a parent feel more empowered and grounded, a child feel emotionally safer in their families or just about any adult feel more genuine with themself. I meet you where you are. I will create a safe space for you and I to explore difficult moments and in doing so, slowly discovering a more authentic life that feels like...yours! Just like how you wanted it to be. My trainings have been focused on Emotionally-Focused Therapy, EMDR and DBT, all of which help my clients feel more empowered and secured. I also incorporate mindfulness, using the mind and body to increase self-awareness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we are all deserving of a life filled with joy, fulfillment and authenticity and whenever I can, I help others make space and give themselves the permission to have these in their lives. Because I value authenticity, I believe in valuing people for their identities and that includes letting LGBTQIA+ community that they have always have emotional space in therapy. Being a Filipino immigrant and Tagalog and Cebuano-speaking, I am passionate about helping my fellow kababayan and bringing in my competency in the culture to the room. This passion transcends to having a podcast called Kamalayan that’s dedicated to mental health awareness in the context of the Filipino culture.
