About My Clients
I work with adults offering individual sessions and groups focusing on addiction, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I also teach in University settings, present at professional conferences, and offer mindfulness and psycho-education in corporate, school, and other community-based settings.
My Background and Approach
Fostering a mutual respect and collaborative relationship with clients to achieve defined goals lies at the heart of my practice. My approach to therapy honors each of my client's unique life experiences, positive and negative, by utilizing a trauma-informed lens to guide each client through accessing their strengths and building skills in order to increase resilience and experience greater life fulfillment. I employ a variety of therapeutic modalities to conceptualize problems and create interventions, including acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, and treatments rooted in the latest neuroscience. I have lived with Type 1 Diabetes for over 22 years and have worked with chronic illnesses in different settings for over a dozen. In my own recovery from addiction, I have overcome anxiety and trauma. I know what it is like to be looking for help and what it means to recover.
