About My Clients
Are you in need of refuge? Do you want to feel safe to be your most authentic self? Are you looking for a place to process your most difficult experiences? You've come to the right place. Together, we can create a safe and healing space for you to explore new ways of thinking, coping, expressing emotions, and relating to others. I'm also trained to evaluate individuals for an Emotional Support Animal or for gender-affirming treatment.
My Background and Approach
I received my Master's from UNT, which is consistently ranked the best Counseling program in the state. Since then, I have worked in outpatient settings and in higher levels of care (PHP/IOP/RTC). My approach is based on my belief that the nonjudgmental, confidential space of a counseling room is sacred and a unique experience all its own. If this is your first time considering counseling, I hope you’ll give it a try! You’re deserving of peace and happiness. If you'd like to know a bit more about who I am as a therapist, past clients have expressed appreciation for my calming presence, warmth, depth, authenticity, and use of humor, when appropriate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Equity, justice, and compassion are some of my biggest values. As such, I approach counseling with the belief that reality is constructed from individual perception and sociocultural context, which includes systems of oppression and marginalization. I have worked with many individuals with intersecting marginalized identities and am affirming of people of all ethnicities, sexual-affectional orientations, gender identities, ability statuses, and body types. Whatever your lived experience, I would be honored to be part of your journey.
