About My Clients
I primarily work with people from BIPOC and queer community. I have experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship issues, and substance use problems. I aim to hold a space for those who may not have access to any other arenas to feel heard and understood.
My Background and Approach
I obtained my Master’s degree in Mental Health and Counseling with an advanced certification in LGBT Counseling from New York University. My training, education, and experience in Mental Health Counseling have provided me with a strong background in both individual and couple’s counseling. I work through a lens of understanding how different identities intersect and impact your mental health. I value collaboration with clients in my approach for effectiveness. Within the therapy relationship, you will be able to take up space, with all aspects of your social and racial identities during our sessions. I incorporate a variety of traditional and nontraditional modalities that includes trauma-sensitive mindfulness practices, attachment-based systems work, and cognitive-behavioral model. I love to make my methods as individualized/special as those who seek my services.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I truly believe that "nobody is beyond rehabilitation" and we all have the capacity to change with community support and resiliency.
