Whether you are looking to find relief, increased direction in life, or feel empowered to make the changes you want to see happen, counseling can help you do so! Taking the first step to seek help takes bravery, courage, and determination. You just did that! I specialize in issues dealing with self-esteem/self-worth challenges, depression, anxiety, grief, loss, suicide prevention and transitions in life. I also provide affirming treatment to LGBTQ+ individuals.
My Background and Approach
I have a holistic view of treatment and use a mix of evidence-based techniques including; cognitive-behavioral frameworks, mindfulness-based techniques, Motivational Interviewing, and emotional intelligence development. My goal is to help you understand yourself more fully, and define what happiness really means to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
During the first session, I will listen to your concerns and also ask several questions to better understand what you are dealing with and what you would like to focus on most. In the subsequent sessions, we will explore what are the roots of this issue, how it impacts your life, and provide some strategies to help you better cope with your concern. While you may experience some relief in 1-2 sessions, therapy is not a one-time fix. Therapy is a process that often takes several sessions, but the investment in yourself is a very rewarding one!
