About My Clients
The decision to seek therapy involves a willingness to try something new, to commit to regular and intentional time for yourself, and to build an authentic and supportive relationship from which to enrich your life. I work best with clients who are curious about themselves and are ready to take steps towards what matters most in life. I specialize in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, and while most of my clients identify with this community, anyone is welcome in my practice.
My Background and Approach
I enjoy helping clients to clarify their values, cultivate depth in their relationships, and foster self-understanding that catalyzes growth. I use a strengths-based and integrative approach that is tailored to your unique needs and draws from from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT), and interpersonal modalities. I take an active approach to therapy that invites you to approach your own life with deeper engagement and new possibility. Past clients have described me as genuine, nonjudgmental, and perceptive.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am dedicated to racial and social justice and prioritize appreciation of each person’s unique cultural context. I previously served on the Trans Care Team and LGBTQ+ Mental Health Team at UCLA, and I pioneered research on one of the first couples therapy interventions specifically tailored to the unique strengths and stressors that LGBTQ+ folx may experience in their relationships. I continue to focus my practice, training, and outreach on offering affirming care to clients with diverse gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship practices.
