About My Clients
My clients experience a variety of challenges to connection and wellbeing, including anxiety, depression, self-worth, interpersonal relationships, gender and sexuality, trauma (CPTSD, intergenerational, identity-related), and integrating difficult emotions. I often work with people who feel old coping skills have become more exhausting than helpful, and would like concrete skills in addition to talk therapy. Many of my clients are artists, activists, and neurodivergent people.
My Background and Approach
I approach therapy as a way of counteracting the influence of systems of oppression that can stand in the way of self-acceptance, embodiment, and connecting with others. My approach integrates IFS, DBT, and somatic methods within a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive framework. I’m also certified in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and have training in exploring spirituality as a healing resource. My work with clients is also informed by my experience as a working artist, and study at Union Theological Seminary on the role of spirituality in social justice movements and holistic healing from trauma. In sessions, I'm down-to-earth and curious in a way that encourages experimentation and discovery. I try to show up as fully as I can, with the understanding no one, not even therapists, are blank slates. I also bring humor into sessions when appropriate. Sometimes, laughter is the best antidote for chronic shame caused by trauma.
