About My Clients

The world can be chaotic and even scary. There is so much uncertainty that you may feel off balance and unable to juggle all the demands. These feelings are becoming increasingly common and you are not alone. Holistic practices can not only reduce anxiety but also help you regain energy and focus to take on life's demands.I look forward to hearing how I can help you on your journey to wellness and balance.

My Background and Approach

I began my career as a special educator and found a draw to mental health at a time when mental health services for youth were limited. I have served children and their families for over two decades, helping them find some footing and balance in an ever-evolving and sometimes confusing world. I come from an existential foundation that focuses on helping people find meaningful ways to tackle the difficulties they are facing and find purpose and meaning to help them live an authentic life. As a Chicana, I value the importance of culture and identity as well as the value of community and family, however family may present. Decolonizing perspectives and trauma-informed care are how I create inclusive and safe spaces for clients to share and heal. I meet clients where they are and embrace their strengths and histories to honor and support them.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a decolonizing therapist who believes people are much stronger than they may think. There is always time to learn, grow, and flourish. Even people with extreme trauma can learn to heal and live authentic, balanced lives. I acknowledge that many vulnerable populations do not have equal access to a society that is equal for all. Because of this, I see therapy as a way to support people where they are and help them navigate complex systems to learn, recover, and prosper. I am a bi-Chicana who embraces her Indigenous Mayan roots and Danish living "Hygge." I believe in the power and strength of community and the magic of connecting to ancestral roots. I am trans-inclusive and am always learning the most current standards of care to provide the best support, including gender-affirming assessments and helping trans youth connect with support.
